Unlike its twin, the 2002R, the 1906R was not the breakout success that New Balance had hoped for. Now it appears that the model is finally getting its due, with collaborations with COMME des GARCONS HOMME, Salehe Bembury, and Action Bronson on the way.
The New Balance 1906R has also planned several inline versions for later this year, including this recently announced Hornets-friendly colorway. Atop a white-dominant background, the couple creates an unofficial tribute to the squad, including aqua blue and purple hues throughout its numerous accents. Black is also used throughout, including on the heel counter, laces, and lining.
