The Nike Air Max 1 no longer has a milestone anniversary, but the silhouette remains an integral element of the brand's lineup.
Tinker Hatfield's famous design has appeared in a slew of different forms over the last seven months, as well as returning in true-to-original form via the '86 edition (which features a big bubble). The Air Max pioneer recently appeared in an eye-catching "Volt" makeup. The neon green color isn't new to Hatfield's work, but its use on the new pair is. Sections around the forefoot, along the midfoot, and across the heel are made of "Volt" leather, while the gaps in between are made of a brighter shade of green fabric. Furthermore, the underlays include a topographic pattern that adds uniqueness to the shoe. Given how other Nike Air Max trainers with comparable design cues have debuted, the pair could be part of a broader Nike Sportswear collection influenced by nature. Finally, the sole units underfoot are simple, with a "White" midsole and a "Volt" waffle-patterned outsole.
