Nike Mamba Program: Exclusive Duke Women's Basketball Nike Kobe 8 Protros Unveiled

In a significant move announced by Vanessa Bryant at the beginning of September, Nike introduced the Nike Mamba Program. This program involves six NCAA basketball programs set to receive school-exclusive colorways of Kobe Bryant’s Protro series footwear. Recently, the Duke Women’s Basketball team revealed a pair of Nike Kobe 8 Protros as part of this exclusive collection, aligning with the program alongside UConn, LSU, Oregon, USC, and Kentucky.

Reflecting the team bank color-blocking approach seen in LSU's installment, the iconic low-top silhouette—hailed as one of Bryant’s exceptional signature offerings—takes on two distinct Duke-inspired colorways for home and away games. The dominant Duke Blue colorway adorns the mesh upper and Lunarlon-infused midsole, while jet-black accents accentuate the tread and heel clip, covering the crisp white Kobe sheath logo and profile swoosh, creating a striking home outfit.

Conversely, the home-centric colorway reverses the placement of blue and white hues, showcasing a colorless treatment on the upper and midsole with vibrant blue swooshes, inner lining, and heel logos. This unique design represents the away uniform for the Duke Women’s Basketball team. It appears that Nike, in collaboration with Vanessa Bryant, has chosen the Kobe 8 as the first Protro silhouette to be included in the program for these six esteemed basketball programs.

As fans eagerly await further additions from Bryant's revered collection, the Nike Kobe 8 "Duke" PEs are unveiled in detailed imagery, showcasing the exclusive colorways tailored specifically for the Duke Women’s Basketball team. These Protros not only honor Kobe Bryant’s legacy but also serve as a testament to the collaboration between Nike and the NCAA basketball programs in celebrating basketball excellence and heritage.
