Nike Brings Back the Air Flight 89 in a New Low-Cut “Hyper Royal” Version
Nike is bringing back another classic silhouette but with a fresh twist. This time, it’s the Nike Air Flight 89, which is being introduced in a low-top version. Following Nike’s recent trend of reimagining older models in low-top form—like the Spizike Low and Air More Uptempo Low—the Air Flight 89 Low aims to offer a more casual, everyday look.
Design Features of the Air Flight 89 Low Even though this low-top version loses the original high collar, it keeps many of the key details that make it recognizable. This includes the toothed lacestay panels at the front, perforated leather on the sides, and a sole unit that is shared with the Air Jordan 4, giving it a vintage 1980s feel. The Air Flight 89 has always been known as the “sister model” to Michael Jordan’s signature line, and this version continues that trend by incorporating design elements similar to the Military Blue color scheme.
Release Information The Nike Air Flight 89 Low “Hyper Royal” is expected to drop in Spring 2025. It will be available at Nike.com and select retailers for $140. Keep an eye out for this release if you’re a fan of classic, retro sneakers with a modern twist.
