The adidas Intimidation Low Returns Thanks to Packer Collaboration

The collaboration between New Jersey-based retailer Packer and adidas continues to yield exciting results, and their latest venture brings back a forgotten gem from the past: the adidas Intimidation Low. After successfully reissuing the adidas Intimidation in 2023, Packer has now shifted its focus to the even more obscure low-top counterpart, the Intimidation Low.

Originally part of adidas’s storied EQT (Equipment) line from 1999, the Intimidation Low was designed as a running shoe, but its versatile look positioned it as more of an all-purpose trainer. The reworked version by Packer stays true to the essence of the original but brings a contemporary twist by utilizing the tooling from the adidas KB3—a model later used on the highly popular Yeezy 500.

A Modern Take on a Classic

Packer’s reimagining of the Intimidation Low retains the recognizable KB3 tooling but swaps out the original upper for a sleeker design that removes the signature three stripes on the underlay. The new upper design offers a streamlined look that complements the modern lifestyle focus, moving away from performance features in favor of style-driven aesthetics.

True to Packer's design philosophy, the colorways are rich and fall-friendly, with earthy tones that blend seamlessly into lifestyle-oriented fashion rather than performance footwear. Two colorways have already been revealed:

  • Dark Blue/Grey Gradient Upper: This colorway features a black sole with a gradient upper transitioning from dark blue to grey, finished with a black TPU cage for added structure.
  • Blue-Fade Base with Light Blue/Grey Cage: The second option boasts a white midsole and a blue-fade base, paired with a light blue/grey TPU cage for a fresh, cool-toned appearance.

What to Expect Next

While the exact release date and pricing details have yet to be confirmed, Packer is expected to make an official announcement in the coming weeks. As with previous collaborations, fans of both the retailer and adidas can expect a limited release that will likely sell out quickly, especially given the growing demand for nostalgic reissues with a modern twist.

The adidas Intimidation Low, revived through Packer's unique lens, is a perfect example of how brands can take classic designs and rework them to fit contemporary tastes. With its minimalist rework, quality materials, and premium finish, this release is poised to be a standout in the upcoming sneaker season.
