Salomon is reintroducing another classic trail running shoe from the early 2000s—the XT-Whisper. Following the recent return of the Salomon Snowclog, this French outdoor brand is expanding its popular “XT” series with this long-awaited comeback.
The XT-Whisper was first designed in 2000 as a women’s version of the XT-Hawk. While both models shared a focus on trail performance, the Whisper featured a softer, rounded design compared to the sharp, angular panels Salomon is known for. Now, the XT-Whisper is making its return in unisex sizing, with minor technical updates to meet modern outdoor standards. Its versatile design also appeals to fans of the “gorpcore” fashion trend, which blends functional outdoor wear with everyday style.
Salomon plans a broader launch of the XT-Whisper during the Spring 2025 season, but an early release in the “Treetop” colorway is set for December 10th, 2024. Priced at $140, it’s an exciting option for trail enthusiasts and lifestyle buyers alike.
