Yamaha Unveils MOTOROiD 2 — The Futuristic AI-Powered Motorcycle

Yamaha has introduced the MOTOROiD 2, a bold and futuristic concept motorcycle that combines robotics and artificial intelligence to explore the future of human-machine connection. Unlike traditional bikes, this electric prototype is more of an experimental innovation designed to showcase Yamaha’s vision of perfect harmony between rider and machine — a philosophy they call “Jin-Ki Kanno,” meaning the joy of being one with your motorcycle.

The standout feature of the MOTOROiD 2 is its self-balancing system, known as AMCES (Active Mass Center Control System). This advanced technology allows the motorcycle to stand, move, and balance itself — even without a rider. It can also recognize its owner through AI-powered facial and gesture recognition, following commands and even “following” the rider like a loyal robotic companion.

In terms of design, the MOTOROiD 2 looks like it has come straight from the future. The transparent body panels, hub-driven rear wheel, and blue lighting give it a sleek, almost living appearance. The unique Leaf structure and pivoting swingarm allow the back of the bike to move independently, making its motions appear smooth and lifelike — almost as if the bike has its own personality.

While the MOTOROiD 2 is still a concept, the technology behind it could soon be adapted into everyday electric scooters and bikes, improving safety, balance, and accessibility for riders around the world.
