The Nike Terminator, originally designed solely for John Thompson's Georgetown Hoyas, had its first renewed treatment since 1985 last year, and a wider range of unconventional ideas are scheduled to make their appearance in the coming months. The latest original on-court tooling from the Beaverton company is getting an outdoorsy reinforcement, even though the silhouette hasn't veered too far from its iconic two-toned "Be True To Your School" line.
The Terminator High now indulges in a winterized aesthetic with embellishments from the brand's ACG hiking boots, similar to the weatherized tooling set atop its 2004 Zoom Swat attempt. The covered jet-black composition is prepared for the upcoming unpredictable winter weather with attached metallic eyelets and thick bungee cord-like oval laces. Instead of using the conventional leather structure, this shoe has a reinforced neoprene covering the underlays and prominent suede treatment on the upper panels that extends to the mid-foot Swoosh. The all-obsidian ensemble of the pitch-black composition is finished with a seldom speckling, which is accompanied by a ballistic mesh upper heel tab.
