The New Balance 1906R has deviated from its original aesthetics since its reintroduction earlier this year. The silhouette has lately begun modifying its structure, swapping out mesh for a number of various textiles, in addition to collaborating with several of the brand's collaboration partners.
The 1906R is arguably at its highest point here. The conventional shoe mesh inserts have been replaced with a more sturdy, texturally basic canvas, whose light grey finish matches the suede panelling put immediately on top. Furthermore, the heel counter foregoes the standard TPU shell in favour of a more beautiful piece of real leather. The branded tab on the tongue is also made of the same material, which complements the off-white tones used on the lacing unit and midsole.
