The Swoosh has gone all-in on producing 1980s sneaker designs during the last year. The Nike Gamma Force, which recently debuted in "White" and "Desert Berry," is one such model.
Inspired by court footwear from decades past, the silhouette gives women a sleek, old-school look. Several competitors have achieved extraordinary success with their own offers shaped by 1980s performance models, and Nike has bundled its own heritage with lofty aspirations in the Gamma Force. Although it is still early in the sneaker's life cycle, the shoe has suffered from either customer fatigue with the old-school low-top design (the Swoosh already saturated the market with the Nike Dunk) or allegations of trend-following. Despite this, the women's trainer has a varied aesthetic because of its different overlays, sleek profile, and affordable price point.
