Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear Of God Athletics and adidas are gearing up to release their new basketball shoe, the II Basketball “Night Brown,” this December. This is the first true performance model developed by the well-known designer, marking an important step in their partnership.
After a long period of design and development, Lorenzo showcased two versions of the shoe on a show in October 2024. The II Basketball has already been worn by players on the Fear Of God Athletics Overtime Elite team and Gabe Vincent from the Los Angeles Lakers, showing that it’s ready for serious court action.
For those unfamiliar with the earlier I Basketball model, it did not meet expectations as a performance shoe and was never used in NBA games. However, it became popular as a stylish lifestyle sneaker, thanks to Lorenzo’s recognizable design style. The new II Basketball model is built with the same focus on functionality and design that Jerry Lorenzo’s “ESSENTIALS” brand is known for.
The “Night Brown” colorway is a strong starting look, featuring a dark upper paired with a light midsole. Although detailed technical specs are still under wraps, the shoe has a mesh base, sleek Three Stripes branding, and a unique radial tread on the sole for better traction. While Lorenzo did reveal another version of the shoe in October, there are no further details on that design yet.
