Air Jordan 9 fans have something to celebrate after a quiet 2023. This year, two original colorways—the “Dark Powder Blue” and “Olive”—either have already released or are set to hit stores, sparking talk about other potential retro releases like the “Black/Varsity Red” and “Charcoal” versions. While these aren’t confirmed yet, golf fans can enjoy a version of the “Charcoal” colorway, which has just been revealed through official images.
The Air Jordan 9 Golf “Charcoal” features a classic mix of black leather, grey nubuck, and red details, capturing the 1990s look perfectly. The design also includes specialized golf treads for better grip on the green. It’s worth noting that the original Air Jordan 9 “Charcoal” has only been re-released once since its debut in 1994, with the last retro appearing in 2010.
Why make the Jordan 9 into a golf shoe? The model originally came out in 1993 when Michael Jordan briefly switched from basketball to baseball. Jordan even wore cleated versions of the AJ9 during his baseball days, so turning it into a golf shoe fits right in with its history.
There’s no official release date yet, but the Air Jordan 9 Golf “Charcoal” is expected to come out in Spring 2025 and will be priced at $230. Keep an eye out for more updates and take a look at the official images below.
