Nike’s Air Max line continues to merge iconic retro style with golf functionality, and now, the brand is bringing the Air Max 1 ’86 Golf “Chlorophyll” to the fairway. Launching in Spring 2025, this fresh colorway continues Nike’s trend of outfitting classic 1980s models for golf, adding a bit of edge to a traditionally reserved sport.
The Air Max 1 ’86, redesigned to reflect Tinker Hatfield’s original sketch, is the truest recreation of the Air Max 1 we’ve seen. Released first in 2023, the shoe reinterpreted the historic 1987 Air Max design with updated materials and craftsmanship but left some fans divided. While some Air Max loyalists remain attached to the older model, this ‘86 version celebrates the sneaker’s origins with a design truer to Hatfield’s initial vision.
The “Chlorophyll” colorway enhances the retro appeal with its earthy green tones—perfectly tailored for the golf course. The clean palette of greens paired with neutral accents gives it an understated, classic look that blends style with functionality, effortlessly fitting into Nike’s retro golf lineup alongside the Air Jordan 1 and other reimagined icons.
Expect the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 Golf “Chlorophyll” to drop in early 2025 on Nike.com and at Nike Golf retailers, with a retail price of $150.
