Nike Cosmic Runner Brings New Tech to Kids’ Playtime

Nike is taking playtime to the next level with their new kids-exclusive running shoe, the Nike Cosmic Runner. In 2024, Nike has focused on creating more innovative options for children, including the launch of their first kids' skate shoe, the Nike Day One, earlier this year. Now, the Cosmic Runner is set to make waves as another new addition to Nike’s kids’ lineup.

Although Nike already has children’s running shoes like the Future Speed and Nova, the Cosmic Runner brings new features that stand out. According to Nike, this is the first kids’ shoe to include “layered haptic printing,” which is an extra graphic layer designed to protect parts of the shoe that experience the most wear and tear, making it more durable.

The name “Cosmic” might sound familiar to long-time Nike fans. This is because it connects to past Nike lines like the Cosmic Unity and Space Hippie, both known for their innovative and eco-friendly designs. The Cosmic Runner continues this trend with a sole made of Nike Grind, a material that uses recycled products, adding an environmentally friendly touch.

Other features of the Cosmic Runner include a reinforced toe-tip, a seamless one-piece upper for extra comfort, and pull-tabs to make it easy for kids to put on. For preschool and toddler sizes, Nike made adjustments like special patterns and elastic laces for even easier wear.

Overall, the Nike Cosmic Runner is packed with thoughtful details to make playtime more fun and comfortable for kids while also staying durable and eco-friendly.
