The Wu-Tang Nike Dunk is one of the most legendary sneakers in both the sneaker and hip-hop worlds. Originally, Nike made only a few pairs back in 1999 to honor the Wu-Tang Clan’s famous album Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) from 1993. The shoes featured the group's iconic black and yellow color scheme. Over the years, these Dunks have become a must-know piece for sneaker fans and hip-hop lovers. They even gained more attention in 2020 when Travis Scott shared photos of himself wearing them, and around the same time, a pair sold for $50,000 on the resale market.
In June 2024, Nike Sportswear posted an Instagram video teasing the release of the Wu-Tang Dunk, showing the shoe covered in bees, hinting at its public release for the first time. Nike has put a lot into promoting this drop. They teamed up with Wu-Tang leader RZA and New York Knicks players Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Mikal Bridges for the campaign. Nike even brought an ice cream truck called “36 Flavors” to Madison Square Garden to build excitement.
For those not familiar, the Wu-Tang Dunk design is based on the “Be True To Your School” Dunk High from Iowa, but with a slightly darker yellow. The standout feature is the Wu-Tang logo on the tongue and the side of the heel, making these shoes truly special. These Dunks come with yellow laces, unlike the black ones in earlier pictures.
