The Converse All-Star BB Prototype CX “Thunder & Lightning”, Is Available Now

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Oklahoma City Thunder's guard of the future, is experiencing a breakout season in his fifth season. The latter helped one of the League's most dynamic young scoring guards earn his first All-Star selection in Salt Lake City by averaging a career-high 31 points on 50.7 percent shooting from the field. Canada's future basketball hero debuted the Converse All Star BB Prototype CX "Thunder & Lightning" at the League's festive mid-season mark while also serving as the face of Converse's expanding basketball lineup and strutting through NBA tunnels in bodacious, oversized fits.

The Boston-based company's premium basketball gear is positioned in the stormy weather inspiration, which launches two diametrically opposed ideas.

A powder blue to "Blue Flame" gradient runs across the jacquard mesh base layer while dark royal hues cover the overlays, tongue, and laces. During his 9 points and 7 assists performance, he wore the vivid blue "Lightning" pair. Pops of "Magic Fire" inject a vibrant personality across the CX Foam sock liner, while its secondary offering mimics the first with a "Lava Glow" trim and gradient filling its sole unit and Star Chevron branding. The lightning streaks and secondary fiery transition on the mid-foot branding perfectly matched the yellow and orange colors of his All-Star uniform. In contrast, the "Thunder" color blocking features a clean white construction with a color-shifting top that is activated by sunlight and conceals an "Agate Blue" feature.
