Adidas Dame 8 “Sakura”

Fans within Portland's Moda Center yesterday night bore witness to a mystical basketball experience as Damian Lillard enacted a MasterClass against the Houston Rockets pouring in a career-high 71 points, becoming just the eighth player in NBA history to record 70 plus points in a single game. During the Blazers' 17-point victory, a brazen co-star wearing the vivid pink Adidas Dame 8 "Sakura" pulled up for numerous logo 3-pointers and snuck past defenders in the paint.

James Harden averaged a career-high in assists this season, and Donovan Mitchell dropped his own 71-piece on the second day of the New Year. These are just a few of the Adidas Basketball roster's hallmark players who have been absolutely dominant this year. Lillard's historic night is perhaps further icing on the cake for the German sportswear juggernaut after the company's recent introduction of the "Remember Your Why" campaign at All-Star Weekend.

With Lillard frequently during his 11th NBA season, the pair engages in a beautiful arrangement of delicate pastel pinks that is inspired by lotus blossoms. A joyful gradation runs throughout the Bounce Pro midsole, culminating at its forefoot in a "Chalk White" finish, airing on the more titular side of his eighth iconic silhouette's roster of color blocking. The mid-foot 3-Stripes are embroidered, floral patterns are used to cover the insoles and "DAME" branding on the heel, and the tread underfoot has a standard semi-translucent closure. All of these details contribute to the pair's luxury looks.

The pastel-colored Dame 8 may be re-released as a result of the significant amount of social media attention it has received, similar to how the company reduced Donovan Mitchell's shoes to $71 after his own career-high night. See the official pictures of the Adidas Dame 8 "Sakura" below while we wait for a possible release in the United States.
