The third generation of the Nike Air Max Plus series, accompanied by Tuned Air tooling, has gone from an obscure cult classic to a regular contributor to the Beaverton brand's lifestyle lineup. After a brief delay to begin the summer, the 2019 revival now features a greyscale upper with a classic gum tread.
The Air Max Plus 3 features a gradient-infused mesh upper, with a clean white forefoot graduating to a jet-black heel, similar to its spring-time counterparts. Pitch-dark color matching is used throughout the tongue construction, oval laces, and the Tuned sole unit underfoot, with a few grey hits accenting the ridged heel counter. While the monochrome ensemble above takes up most of the pair's real estate, the tread beneath cleans up in a nostalgic "Gum" treatment familiar from the label's extensive archives.
