Jae Tips and Saucony have formed a strong partnership since their first collaboration in 2022. The Bronx artist’s sneaker releases with Saucony have become known for their unique designs and have sold out quickly each time. Now, Jae Tips is set to bring new life to a classic Saucony model with the upcoming release of the Saucony Matrix.
The Saucony Matrix was originally a trail running shoe from the 1990s, designed by Brian Moore, who is now the head of product at Saucony. This model hasn’t been released since the year 2000, making its return exciting for sneaker enthusiasts. The decision to revive the Matrix fits perfectly with Jae Tips’ playful and nostalgic style, which has already produced popular releases like the ProGrid Omni 9 “To Do List.”
There will be two colorways of the Jae Tips x Saucony Matrix: one in light blue and pink, reminiscent of cotton candy, and another in a mix of burgundy, brown, and violet. The shoes feature a multi-layered suede upper and a silver quarter logo, giving them a strong 1990s look. Bright colors and chrome piping add to the retro feel, while unique details like a geometric pattern on the quarter logo, “Savior” text on the side, and Jae Tips’ signature flower logo on the heel make these sneakers stand out.
The Jae Tips x Saucony Matrix will make its first appearance at ComplexCon 2024, held in Las Vegas from November 16th to 17th. Sneaker fans can expect this release to draw plenty of attention and sell out quickly, given the past success of Jae Tips’ collaborations.
