To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the legendary anime Neon Genesis Evangelion, G-SHOCK has unveiled the GA-110EVA30, a bold new timepiece inspired by the series’ most iconic mecha, EVA-01. This collaboration blends G-SHOCK’s rugged durability with the anime’s futuristic, mechanical aesthetic, making it both a collector’s piece and a functional watch.
Designed with input from Evangelion’s own mechanical designer Yamashita Ikuto, the GA-110EVA30 incorporates intricate references to the EVA-01 unit:
- Horns of Unit-01 appear at the 12 o’clock band.
- The face of EVA-01 is integrated into the bezel design.
- A detailed illustration of the left arm wielding the Spear of Longinus stretches from the bezel to the 6 o’clock band.
- The Angel motif decorates the inset hand at 9 o’clock.
- A Y-shaped dial divider carries the black-and-yellow “Caution” pattern from the series.
Additional elements include “Neon Genesis” on the band ring, the NERV logo at the band tip, and a 30th-anniversary logo etched on the case back. Each watch comes in special packaging, decorated with Evangelion’s 30th-anniversary graphics, making it a must-have for fans.
The GA-110EVA30 stays true to G-SHOCK’s reputation for toughness, offering shock resistance, water resistance, and the brand’s signature functionality while also acting as a wearable tribute to the anime’s legacy.
Priced at ¥37,400 JPY (approx. $250 USD), the Evangelion x G-SHOCK GA-110EVA30 is currently available via raffle on Casio G-SHOCK Japan’s website until October 6, with a general release planned for October 17.
