The New Balance 550 was created to follow the industry trend of creating low-top alternatives to the heavily decorated on-court equipment used in the college and NBA competitions. The previously 20th-century relic was revived by the Boston-based firm for a regular slate of vast color blockings after being sewn from the hardwood in 1989. The basketball oxford most recently wore a pure white attire enhanced by a "Grey Toe."
The most recent application of the Steven Smith design produces bright white color matches throughout the entirety of the pair's leather and nylon real estate, similar to its colorless cleanup of January 16. The mudguard distinguishes itself in both tone and texture, comprising a nubuck grey toe cap to emphasize the nearly triple white composition, while the sole unit beneath the foot transitions to more of an "Off-White" tint.
See the official photos of the New Balance 550 "Grey Toe" below while we wait for further information on its tentative March release date.
